Introduction to HPC (MU Only)

Advanced course

This course is an entry level class into High Performance Computing (HPC). This course requires access to the Miami University Redhawk Cluster (our own supercomputer), thus, it’s only available to students from our home institution.

You will learn the history of HPC, refresh the usage of the Linux Shell, and learn how to access, interact, and make simple analysis in our HPC cluster.

Requirements

• A strong desire to learn Linux.
• Familiarity with any of the following languages R, Python, Shell, Matlab, MS-DOS, or similar
• Familiarity with file paths on a computer (for example C:\Users\muellej\Documents\CLUSTER)
